All Saints Students and Parents

The students have been so excited to learn about the many artists, styles, movements in art and various medium we have explored when getting ready for a new project. Take some time to ask your student about the wonderful creations they have made in art class.

All Saints School will have 15 pieces on display in the Chesterfield Mall from January 24-30 in celebration of Catholic Schools Week. The names of the 15 talented students will be announced soon.

With each grade level, we explore new artists, styles, medium and techniques in order to open up the wide and wonderful world of art.

Pre-School and Kindergarten art is an introduction to the art studio. This year's study will lay a foundation upon which students can build.

First grade art builds upon students' understanding of the elements of line, shape and form and the principle of rhythm/pattern.

In second grade, students’ understanding of the element of color becomes a component for further study.

Understanding of the element of texture and the principles of balance and unity make up the focus of the 3rd grade art curriculum.

Students in 4th grade build upon their understanding of the element of value and the principles of emphasis and contrast.

Understanding of the element of space and the principle of proportion are part of 5th grade’s art exploration.

Sixth grade art builds upon students' understanding of the elements and principles of design. Advanced color theory and the principle of variety are applied to art production.

Seventh grade art continues to build upon students' understanding of the elements and principles of design while incorporating the principle of movement to art production.

The element of space will be more thoroughly examined and applied to create the illusion of depth while also refining and enhancing student understanding of the elements and principles of design.

Light Bulbs Needed!!!

We are in need of your used standard lightbulbs. The 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Graders paint them for Christmas ornaments every year and we are running low. We are unable to use the new spiral bulbs or any smaller bulbs, we canonly use the standard size. I can take them any time of the year and you can send them in with your student. So, tell your relatives and friends not to throw out their lightbulbs but to send them in for the students. Thank you again for all of your help and support. God bless

Large Paper, Rolls of Paper and Posterboard Needed

Do you know anyone who is an architect or engineer or someone in the paper business? I have received several large rolls of paper and pads of building blueprints in the past and I want to thank everyone who has donated to the Art Room. We can always use more. Please bring any large paper in and I know we will find a use for it. Thank you and God bless.
