The summer is always great for spending time together. I think back to the days when I had small children and how much I looked forward to having them home. I also recall those long days when they were bored and nothing seemed like fun. There weren’t enough books, puzzles, or board games in the house. All of this was before Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus so there certainly were some challenges to keeping my kiddos busy and entertained. Things have changed and now there is so much more available. Online games and streaming video can provide countless hours of entertainment, but I truly hope that you and your child/children will find time for outdoor adventures like scavenger hunts, hiking some of the great trails in Missouri, or even going for a bike ride. For those days when the weather keeps you in, we will have a Summer Resources page on Educonnect. You will find some great virtual field trips and some free educational websites to help keep your child/children busy and entertained throughout the summer.
School news that you can watch for as the summer progresses will include updates on teacher classrooms, a tentative calendar, and information about the start of the school year. We will also send information about any procedures or policies that will be implemented as a result of COVID-19. We have already planned for social distancing in our classrooms and will continue to work on plans which will help to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone. Once these plans are formalized, we will be sure to inform you. In the meantime, please be assured that this is a work in progress!
We have a tentative start date of August 17, and I am looking forward to this day and getting to see all of our students again.
Have a safe and happy summer! May God's blessing be abundant on you and your family.
